How to make a receipt for a Paytm payment
Enter your business name and a receipt number, then who paid and how much. The payment mode is already set to Paytm. Add the UPI reference number and the invoice the payment settles, then download the PDF and send it.
In Paytm, open Balance & History, tap the payment and look for the UPI Ref No. That 12-digit number is the same one that appears on the bank statement, so it is the reference to record.
Paytm QR payments at a shop or counter
If customers pay you by scanning a Paytm QR code, many will still ask for a bill or receipt, especially for business expenses they need to claim. A receipt with your shop name, GSTIN and a receipt number is what their employer or accountant will accept.
Record the amount in words as well as figures. The generator does this for you, and it is the line that stops a receipt being altered after you send it.

An invoice asks for payment before you are paid. A receipt confirms the money arrived, after the customer pays on Paytm.
