How to make a receipt for a GPay payment
Fill in your business name and a receipt number, then who paid you and how much. The payment mode is already set to Google Pay. Add the UPI transaction ID and the invoice the payment settles, then download the PDF and send it to the payer on WhatsApp or email.
To find the transaction ID, open Google Pay, tap the payment in your history and look for "UPI transaction ID". It is a 12-digit number. Putting it on the receipt is what lets you or your client trace the payment against a bank statement later.
Why send a receipt when GPay already shows the payment?
The GPay success screen belongs to the payer. It proves money left their account, but it carries no receipt number, no GSTIN and nothing from your side. When their accountant files the expense, or an auditor asks how an invoice was settled, they want a receipt issued by you.
A numbered receipt also protects you. If a client later says they paid twice, or that a payment was for a different invoice, your receipt series shows exactly what came in and what it was against.

Can I put my GSTIN on the receipt?+−
Yes. Add your GSTIN in the business details and it prints on the receipt. Leave it blank if you are not GST registered.
Is a GPay receipt different from a UPI receipt?+−
No. GPay runs on UPI, so the receipt is the same document. Naming Google Pay as the mode just records which app the client used.
Can I make one receipt for several GPay payments?+−
It is better to issue one receipt per payment. If a client pays an invoice in two parts, two receipts against the same invoice keep the outstanding balance easy to prove.
